This simple exercise will raise fire energy within your body and aura.
Begin by relaxing and ideally stretching your body a little. The basic stretches you learned in gym class will do. Even if its just touch your toes, roll your hips, and shake your arms and legs out this exercise is better when you stretch.
Next, if possible, warm your body up with a little physical activity. Take a walk, pick up some weights, hit a punching bag, carry some bagged mulch to the garden, or do jumping jacks for a minute.
If physical action of this nature is not possible for you, close your eyes and imagine yourself running in a straight line on an endless plane. Feel your body moving and notice your lungs heaving. Replicate the breathing with short, deep breath in, hold half1 or 2 seconds, then short, hard breath out.
In, hold, out is one cycle. Do no more than 10 of these cycles then return to normal breathing.
Every magical working begins with a desire, which becomes a
decision to apply magic. From there a practicing magician must either locate an
appropriate operation for fulfilling his or her desire or create one to get the
job done.
Magical operations come in all shapes and sizes and can be
very simple or extremely complicated. There are numerous formula and structures
for building them, and they can involve all manner of tools, props, and
ingredients.
All magical operations need a definite goal. This object of
desire must be clearly understood by the operator and an imagined scene of
success should accompany the understanding.
For purposes of this template we can say you need to know
exactly what it is you desire to have, do, be, or have happen as the result of
your magic. You should furthermore be able to imagine a moment when your
success is realized, create a scene that captures or embodies that moment, and
then put yourself in that scene.
Follow the formula in this section as a regular exercise to
build magical muscle and develop your operational intuition. It is not intended
as a play-by-play way to enact all your magical work. It is a concept-model to
train your directional focus, coordinate your energy bodies and other subtle
components (chakras, meridian, auric layers, etc.) and build magical muscle by
sharpening your mind and toning your subtle anatomy.
At the end of the walkthrough are some notes on implementing
these steps in magical work.
Here is an easy-to-follow template that walks you through
structuring an operation. This is but one of many approaches but it’s a good
starting point that combines speed and simplicity with focused power to bring
results.
The eight steps involved are:
Here is the detailed unpacking of these steps.
In the larger curriculum a magical operation is the main
workhorse of a magical methodology, which in turn is part of a system.
Discussed formally, the operation is made from individual magical acts, which
are the result of magical techniques, themselves the result of combining
fundamental movements and intentions.
However, in this imperfect hierarchy of methods or
progression of working parts, it is also true that a single act, simple technique,
or even a fundamental intention or movement can also be a complete
operation if it fulfills the magician’s desire or achieves a full
magical goal.
The magician’s desire is the end result magic is being
enacted to attain. This is the reason for the magical work in the first place.
A magical goal is the endpoint of magic within a larger
magical working; a finished step in a process. For example a thorough clearing
of unwanted energy and banishing of any spirits in an area before a ritual
could be a complete operation within the overall work being performed.
A magical operation is well-defined as a full method for
producing a final result or a procedure enacted from start to finish aimed at
getting the magician what he or she wants. Be solution-oriented as you build an
operation and make certain all work moves towards that end, either directly or
by setting up the next step in that direction.
Use this list to orient your work from the start.
Before you pick up a crystal or say a
single magic word, check off every item on this list.
1.
Decide exactly what you wish to accomplish.
2.
Refine this desire so it can be stated clearly and
deliberately in a single sentence. English and other languages give you the
tools to pack a lot into one sentence; use commas, “and”, plus the semicolon
character as needed. If you still end up with more than one sentence, then what
you want requires multiple operations; in this case construct one operation at
a time to perform individually.
3.
When you have your single statement of desire convert
it into a statement of affirmation or fact. Refine it until it can be read or
spoken aloud with confidence.
4.
Imagine a moment when your statement is made true and
you realize your goal has been achieved. See yourself in the world where your desire
has manifested and immerse yourself in that moment; be there with the
sights, sounds, and feelings of success and victory.
a.
If you can become a master at crafting believable,
vivid victory scenes and then fully inhabiting those scenes whenever you like, you
will produce epic magic with your operations. This is truly the foundation for
your work.
Once you have your statement of desire and your victory
scene you can begin constructing your magical operation. Use the statement as
your guide and the scene as the target you aim for.
Normal, everyday consciousness and physiology are suitable
for your job, traffic, watching television, playing with your dog, eating out
with friends, chatting with tech support, complaining about your congressperson
who is likely a con-artist, and many other wonderful activities. It is not,
however, appropriate for magical endeavors, which require a magical condition
of the mind and body.
You should attain a magical state prior to any magical
working. This may seem inconvenient at first, until you realize good results
depend upon this convention. Over time entering this state becomes easier, and
in fact can become an automatic response to prepping for magical work.
If you don’t already have a method or two for easily
achieving the proper, altered state click here for a simple exercise to
get this done in five or fewer minutes.
Before engaging serious magical work it is important to
clear the mind and aura of psychic debris, ill thought forms, lingering doubt,
and other counterproductive energies. The same should be done for the immediate
work area, to include the removal of uninvited or accidentally invited spirits
or subtle entities.
Such undesirable currents and beings can befuddle you or
disrupt your magic, perhaps even to a harmful extent. Their removal is critical
to best results.
The old grimoires even instruct a bodily purification with
holy water and three days without meat, alcohol, or sex. You are encouraged to
take cleansing and removal of detrimental influences as far as you see fit.
A thorough clearing and banishing will ensure that you
commence magical operation with a clean slate, no hindrances nor interference
patterns riding along. This can be achieved in several different ways.
You can burn sage and/or juniper.
Some folks use a dowsing pendulum to clear energy and remove
spirits.
As the pendulum begins to lose momentum, ask your helper to clear away the negative energy patterns that supported the cleared entities. When the pendulum is finished moving direct your attention to the work environment and repeat the process; first remove spirits and entities (which include ill wishes from others) and then take away the energetic fields or patterns the entities fed upon.
In this use of a pendulum, as mentioned your spiritual helpers are enacting the labor and using some part of your personal energy in the process. The moving pendulum provides some momentum for the work but mostly acts as your indicator that work is being performed.
Note that everyone has spirit helpers of some kind, whether guides, angels, ancestors, household spirits, or even familiars and created servitors. You could also ask the spirit of the crystal pendulum to enact this work if you like. It id obviously possible to have better or worse relationships with any spirits in your life and results of this task may be affected by such factors.
Take three full, “cleansing breaths” if you know this technique.
Pentagram banishing rituals are also highly effective.
In a proper magical state and having cleared your person and
surroundings of ill influence and energetic interferences you are now ready to
re-focus on your desired outcome or magical goal. Bring to mind your victory
scene just as previously described; see, feel, know, and experience the detail
and vividness of your ideal, successful outcome.
It is important to spend time regularly practicing
visualization, affirmation, immersion, selective emotional initiation, and
other success-replication techniques. Become very proficient in touching the
essence, energy, or spirit (whichever term you prefer) of success so that at this
stage in an operation you can simply “flip the switch” and turn on the
frequency of your desired outcome.
The term power source here refers to the domain from which
you will draw support and impetus for magical work. Example “domains” include
planetary magic, elemental magic, ancestral magic, and of course mineral magic.
It follows that a power source for a spell or ritual could
be the planet Venus, the element air, your great grandfather on the other side,
or a nice amethyst point. Presumably nobody will protest if we go with a crystal as the example.
Whether holding or forming a mental link with the stone or
crystal, step 4 is about making that solid connection and unleashing the charge or
power within your mineral. More acutely, you will “open up” the mineral’s
desired traits as you hold your affirmed intention from step 3.
The idea here, so far, is that you – the operating magician –
are in a magical state with no interference present (since your mind, aura,
body, and work area have just been cleansed of psychic debris and problematic
entities) and with your affirmed intention or goal present as a precursor
energy field.
This can be handled in one of two ways:
1. 1. Bring into yourself the desired trait of the crystal so
this “power” unites with the energy of your felt-success; it could be in your
receptive hand for this.
Or…
2. 2. Activate the “power” or desired trait of the stone,
held perhaps in your projective hand, and push the energy of your felt-success into
and through the mineral.
In either case you have the fuel for your magic laid upon
your desire in order to impregnate that intentional energy with power, or you
have the charged field that will carry your magic infused with the current of
your intention.
This is a classic, magical case of “tomayto” and “tomahto”. Either
perspective is aimed at the right target so it’s just a matter of how you feel
about the magical action you are taking.
Choose and move forward.
With your felt-success and the energy of the crystal united,
your next step is to raise your magical charge either to the greatest possible
extent or to the level you intend to use for the operation. Both of these could
be called the peak of your operational energy.
At this point we are breaking process down to the micro
level to clarify the rhythmic shifting of the magician’s focused mind. The focus
will move, in either a balanced or harmonious manner, between intense focus
upon success and potent attention given to the charge or movement of the energy
to enact or create that success.
The trait/influence/power of the mineral has been applied, energy
– or ability to cause effect – has been elevated, and now that energy becomes a
“force”, or an agent moving the ability to perform work into a position where work
can be performed.
Shift your attention, by way of intention, onto the astral
plane or the Great Arcanum, magical continuum, Astral Light, or Great Magical Agent.
By many names we call the same; it is the energetic substance on a higher plane
outside the physical where the blueprints of manifest reality are made.
Conceptualize a place of moving potential from whence
everything is formed and then sent here to our world to be born or manifest. On
the surface of that imagined place take hold of the light-energy or fluidic-essence
and cause it to form into the idea or image of your success.
Have fun with this process. Act like a sculptor who works
not clay but non-physical light that can only be seen by a psychic or touched
by a magician. Engage your felt-success or felt-sense of belief as you re-form
your desired outcome.
It is reformation because you have already constructed the
scene and then recalled it to mind before this step. Again, these last four
steps are simply guiding the concept of keeping two intentions at nearly the same
time or doing two things almost at once.
When you can feel the form you are causing like it’s almost solid,
dump or drive your energized intention into it with a finality. Think of that
indescribable movement, internal and external, when you connect a bat to a
baseball or softball.
Or when you shoot for the trash can with a paper wad.
When you zap a friend with a water gun; think about pulling
the plastic trigger and willing the beam of water to nail him or her right in
the nose.
You can even find the tiny moment of actualization in a
video game as you hit that important sequence on the controller while simultaneously
giving that silent grunt or “get in there” from between your eyes.
Very difficult to articulate yet extremely important and too
often omitted from magical instruction, this point of actualization at the end
of your final push of magical force into the deed is an art unto itself. I can point to the way, but only you can seal
this little powerhouse of magical action as a coherent effort or deed.
Another shift, this one a little bigger than previous
micro-phases. At the end of the final connection, trigger pull, or shot for the
goal, step 7 is where you actively let go. This is the second after the ball
leaves your hand towards the hoop or the paper wad sails out of your fingers over
to the trash can.
Push what you
formed in the astral substance down into the ether and release it on its way.
The great lore tells us from here the elemental energies usher your desire
through the ether into the manifest world along the path of least resistance
and in the proper time.
Because the
next step is grounding and since you now know about what I call the “elemental
ladder” or the Creative Cycle as the Pagans call it, you can use a quick elemental
sequence to end this step.
Release your
astral form into the ether, trusting the magical process to finish what you
intentionally began.
For a moment
let yourself feel and think about the infinite possibility inherent within
magical work. Know there are many potential outcomes for your efforts, some of
which are even better than what you visualized. The outcome could be a little
different than what you have in mind, which is an interesting thought. Things
could also turn out radically different, creating totally new opportunities to
consider.
Be open. Expand
your willingness. Experience this in your heart chakra.
Bring the expanded energy in from all directions to become a
ball of fiery excitement and confidence surrounding you. Focus on your excitement
and creativity. See your magical outcome and have the courage to see it a
little better than your initial desire. People often hold back and don’t dare
to really want what they want; they try to be “realistic” about expectations.
Focus intensely on the ultimate best version of your
success. If you visualized finding a nice apartment this month as your magical
goal, take this moment to see a luxury condo or a house in a great neighborhood.
See it like it’s real and pour energy into it.
What’s the harm? It’s only a moment of indulgence. Focus
this through your solar plexus.
The roaring energy
around you and the giddiness within become slow and soothing motion that moves
you downward in a spiral pattern. The spiral becomes a massive, calming wave.
Let everything specific
melt away and focus on the rhythm and order of the process. Feel in your body
things shifting and organizing to form the right end result at the right time.
Feel in your
sacral chakra a sense of joyful anticipation. Whatever comes next is what you
need and you will flow with it and use it in the best way to benefit yourself and
others.
The wave densifies and stops shifting. You move straight
downward in slow, dense motion.
Become heavy like a mountain touching ground as it floats
down from heaven. Tense your muscles and feel slopes and cliffs above and
around you quake to solidify your work.
See the flowing and spiraling magical currents become solid
and squared. Perfect and immovable has your work become.
Feel the heavy, grinding focus in your base chakra.
This extends into the next step.
Pull all the
energy left in and around you into your body and hold it for a moment. Feel strong,
inevitable, undeniable, invincible. Then push this heavy, solid presence down
your legs and through your feet into the ground below. What you put in the
ground becomes a massive, heavy form with roots that grab hold of the deep
earth far below and anchor in place.
This represents
the completion of your magic and the coming of your end result. Let any remaining
energy settle into the form and know anything you miss will settle there in the
near future.
Leave it all,
including your memory of the work, behind in the earth. Call it finished and
instantly feel lighter; still part of the earth but unrestricted in your
movements and able to shift to whatever mode you like.
Forget about
the magic. From here your unconscious mind and energy bodies, along with magical
currents and any spirits involved in the work will finish what you began.
The first three steps can easily be prefaced to any magic you
perform as they are simply preliminary best practices. Enter your magical state,
clear and banish, then generate your victory scene at the onset of any
operation.
Build out the next steps with techniques that fit into
raising energy and focusing your will on the desired outcome. Directing energy
with a wand and burning candles to represent energy and motion can be
integrated easily, and so can handling crystals as you’ve learned from this
book.
Any incantation or spoken words should be used to focus on
your felt-success or victory scene and to gather power and send it to that
scene through your words.
When performing an operation you find online or in a book,
look for points where you would naturally raise energy levels or focus on your
desired outcome. You can usually fit these steps in the right place even if you
need to adjust a little for shorter operations.
Look at the pre-written operations in the chapter “A Few
Magical Operations” to think of how this template might apply. They weren’t all
designed with the eight-step template but you will still see a resemblance of functions.
Do the same with any spellbooks you have now or buy in the future.
Remember, the goal is creating your own operations in your
own style so if you need to alter my template do it.
Here is a simple operation with obsidian and selenite you can use to clear your own energy field and remove unwanted influence and frequencies from a work area. There are actually two operations here combined, meaning you could use either the obsidian or the selenite or both together as shown below.
If you have a wand, blade, or point of each mineral, use the obsidian first, then the selenite. Hold the wand in your projective hand.
Clear you own energy with the wand by making three slow cutting strokes down your centerline from head to toe when casting the spell to clear your energy.
1. Begin with the wand or sharp tip pointed to a spot a few inches above the top and center of your head.
2. “Cut” down in a straight line, passing the point between your eyes, down along your nose, through the center of your mouth and chin, down your windpipe and through the place where your collar bones meet. Keep the point exactly in the center of your torso and cut all the way down your upper body to make a line between your legs and into the floor or ground.
3. When you reach the floor, you should be pointing at a spot centered between your feet. Hold the wand pointed at that spot for a couple of seconds and push your intention out through the mineral and through the spot on the floor.
4. Intend to push the unwanted energy back into the earth to be recycled. “Push” intention and energy out the bottom of both feet at the same time.
5. Raise your hand in a wide arc to the outside and return the point to the spot a few inches above your head. This is one full repetition or cut.
Repeat steps 1 through 5 thrice to make exactly three “cuts”.
Banish unwanted energy from the space by walking about the area while making “waving away” gestures with the wand as you recite the clearing incantation. You can also face each corner of the area and make an equal-armed cross gesture for banishment.
1. Stroke the vertical bar first, top-to-bottom.
2. Stroke the horizontal bar from left-to-right.
3. Press your point through the center of the crossing bars, projecting your intention and life force out through the obsidian or selenite as if you are pushing unwanted energy back out onto the etheric plane. Breathe out as you press and project.
If you don’t have wands hold the obsidian in your left hand and the selenite in your right hand, regardless of your projective or receptive handedness. Focus on and connect with each mineral in turn as you speak the incantations.
Before using either mineral, recite with authority and power: “RA MA RA MA RA MA RA MA!”
This is the invocation of the divine father and mother to equilibrate the magician and the environment and prepare the magical agent or astral light for obedient service.
Direct the heavy, dense, black force to purge your chakras and aura, body and mind. Say “Hekas Ekas Este Bebeloi!”. Let the power of the dark mistress cast unwanted energy from your being.
Direct the sparkling, vibrant white light to cleanse and neutralize any psychic debris, ill frequencies or harmful thought forms and doubts remaining within you. Say “"APO PANTOS KAKODAIMONOS!" Allow the authority of the shining father to cast out unwanted frequencies.
Direct the field of black to overwhelm, crush, and drag away any unwanted energies or intelligences in your work area. Say “Heavy, dense, blackness permeate and sink, drag down to the crushing depths of the underworld unhelpful currents and minds.”
Direct the brilliant white light to burn and scour away negative influences and detrimental energy patterns in your environment. Say, “White light undeniable outshine ill energy and bad influences and scrub them away.”
It is important to understand the term “object of desire” is
no mere figure of language. To the magician, his or her fulfilled desire is an
object capable of receiving energy, being protected from other energy, moving,
growing, and becoming a lived part of experience from future to present and
past.
You can infuse a keyword ahead of time or sanctify an object
in advance to represent your objectified desire. You only need a statement of affirmation or desire and your willpower to do this.
A statement of desire is one sentence to encapsulate what you wish to achieve with your magical work. IT should be stated in the affirmative, as if the thing is done already.
Repeat a keyword at the end of your statement of desire seven
times; see the energy of the statement filling the keyword with each
repetition. After that whenever you say the keyword, it means the same as your full
statement;. Write the keyword down or recite it as you work and direct raised
energy into the written or spoken word during magical work.
Visualize the scene of your success, or victory for a moment. Put yourself in the scene as if it were the present moment and experience it vividly.
When you are finished, before the
scene can fade, project it with your hands and will into a quartz crystal held
between both hands. Repeat your statement of desire into the crystal
seven times, and by the last repetition push the last of the scene’s energy
into the quartz. Use this quartz during your magical operation as the object of
your desire, sending your intention and the energy you channel into it.
Fully impregnate
the object of your desire with the energy you raise during magical work. When finished, release the energy to causation by destroying or being rid of the physical object.
For a symbol on paper, burn it. For a spoken word, unravel it by saying it backwards once then forget it.
For your impregnated quartz throw it into a stream or field and never touch it again. This releases the magic to do its work.
